ABOUT MPAC

A few years ago, while in the midst of some absurd repair or preparation for a theatrical performance at one of the county’s ill-equipped facilities, several River City Players/MHS Drama veterans waxed poetic on the subject of performing in an actual theater where such wearisome yet necessary tasks would be virtually nonexistent.  As time passed, these reveries became more frequent until one of them finally stated the obvious: “Why don’t we do something about it?”  Thus, the MPAC project was born.

From those humble beginnings, an intriguing concept has grown into a full-fledged movement to develop a facility that will be a “Creative Bridge to the Future” for Meigs County and the surrounding region.  The MPAC Foundation team is comprised of dedicated, talented and creative individuals from the community, representing a wide variety of skill sets applicable to the mission.

But it takes far more than dedication, creativity, and talent.  To be successful, an effort the size and scope of MPAC will require the enthusiasm and support of the entire community (and much, much more).  So, read on performing arts fans, and find out how all of us working together can take a simple dream and make it a reality.
